The Tekken saga is also famous for featuring acclaimed characters such as Heihachi Mishima, Kazuya Mishima, and Jin Kazama. The fame of these fighters within the video game industry has reached such a point that Kazuya Mishima also made an appearance in Super Smash Bros: Ultimate. Tekken 8 brings new characters: Azucena, Victor, and Reina. The latter probably will gain special relevance in the subsequent titles of the franchise.

Both titles feature excellent character design in terms of both aesthetics and fighting mechanics. Each character feels unique, with a particular personality and fighting style. An interesting point about World Tour is that, in addition to fighting against characters from the game, you can also fight against regular people that you meet in the open-world city.

As you progress through World Tour mode, you will learn most of the character's moves and combos. So, I'd say this is a tutorial mode on steroids, but that gives the game a new layer of interest.

Verdict . The Namco title has one of the best stories within a fighting game, together with other games like Mortal Kombat 1.

The Arcade Quest mode in Tekken 8 is the latest addition to the franchise, encompassing gameplay where you can create your avatar to complete a series of missions and qualify for different local tournaments, ending with the Ultimate Tekken Cup Championship.

Arcade Quest mode features several chapters in which you will have to overcome challenges and boss encounters. This mode also involves various types of quests, such as main questline quests, standard matches, and treasure box fights. Completing these different types of missions will reward you with experience points and Fight Money, an in-game currency that you can use to purchase cosmetic skins or customize your avatar to your preferences.

In addition, Max, the tutorial and master of the Arcade Quest mode, will teach you all the secrets of the Heat system and how to perform effective combos during the games. For this reason, in AQ mode, you will learn all the topics related to the game to become a better fighter in the end.

Unfortunately, Street Fighter 6 has nothing similar to Tekken 8's Arcade Quest mode. The World Tour is the only mode that is somewhat resembling those mentioned above. However, Street Fighter 6 integrates Online Lobby Mode, which corresponds to a room where gamers can interact with each other through their avatars in casual or ranked games.

Verdict . Playing the Arcade Quest mode is really satisfying and adds a new layer of gameplay to Tekken 8.

In the Street Fighter franchise, the combos are usually more basic and shorter than in the Tekken series. It is something that characterizes the Capcom title from the beginning. Additionally, the title has been acclaimed for its flashy combos and aerial juggling. However, many expert media, such as Game Informer, claim that "Tekken 8 does not measure up to direct rivals such as Mortal Kombat 1 and Street Fighter 6.”

Still, Tekken 8 is a game where you can chain together different types of attacks to surprise and control other combatants. Combos are accessible to everyone, and taking advantage of them is the key to success in every battle and challenge you face.

Verdict . Regardless of the opinion of Game Informer, I think that Tekken 8 combos are a bit more satisfying and fantastic.
