Without going onto a game rant, it’s alike, yet different. It’s like Marvel Heroes and the DC universe – two characters may look like each other, but this does not mean they are the same person.

In the previous installment, The King of Fighters created a system of three fighters against three competitors. What’s new in this one is that the Shatter Strike parry system is coming back and is getting incorporated into the MAX Mode. If you have never played these games, it’s essentially the Heat from Tekken – new moves, more power; everything is better.

The story continues after the last King of Fighters tournament. Anastasia, a newly appointed tournament commissioner, sends out the invitation to the new one. As it turns out, the guys who were long gone were resurrected by the Verse’s powers, so it looks pretty unsafe at the moment. And the rest – is history. It’s pretty much the standard format of this kind of game, but it looks and feels pretty interesting, so we are recommending this for sure.
