Bloodborne is a forgotten gem from the last generation of consoles. Regardless of the fact that it’s one of the best games of FromSoftware – according to me and many Souls fans – Bloodborne has fallen into oblivion due to some technical problems that affect its general performance. Still, these issues are not so important.

Beyond this, Bloodborne is a magnificent game that takes the best of games like Dark Souls and reinvents them to create a new and even darker experience that gives you goosebumps every time you take a step. In this sense, the world design of Bloodborne is disturbing but satisfying.

No doubt that the Bloodborne setting inspired Lies of P as both occur in a Victorian city characterized by ocher colors and an opaque color palette. Enemies are also pretty similar, and the structure of the city reminds me of the 2015 Bloodborne and its intricate alleys. Besides, like in Lies of P, Bloodborne features powerful weapons that require tons of dexterity and strength as you progress in the adventure.

Just remember, as in any Souls game, an essential mechanic of Bloodborne is holding onto your "Souls" or "Blood Echoes.” They are needed to upgrade your stats and acquire new abilities as you progress. Don't forget that if you lose your Blood Echoes, you'll need to collect them again.

Not in vain, Nightmare Creatures II is a survival horror and action game focused on going through dangerous places in the city while you try to survive using your combat skills.

Nightmare Creatures II is a product of the survival horror trend that dominated the video game world in the late 1990s. The creation of the Souls genre transformed the feeling of terror into a new type dominated by the fear of battling powerful monsters. In this context, you control Aegis, a cyborg tasked with destroying the robot armies of King Louis XVI.

The general aesthetic of Steelrising is quite similar to that of Lies of P since both titles present a robotic Victorian environment where ancient cities, large mansions, and cyborgs coexist perfectly.

Steelrising is brutal, as is Lies of P, from every point of view. It includes similar mechanics regarding combat and character upgrading, which involves collecting Anima Essence and using it on "Vestal." Thanks to Anima, you gain unique abilities and can control more powerful weapons.

Steelrising doesn't introduce anything groundbreaking in terms of Souls-like mechanics, but it executes them exceptionally well, resulting in a fresh and engaging experience. Steelrising flows incredibly well, and even more so when you fight bosses that, by the way, have great designs and present a real challenge, even for typical soul-type gamers. Without a doubt, Steelrising presents a similar experience to Lies of P you should try it if you like to venture into strange and hybrid worlds.

It is great for provoking a sense of despair and loneliness as you, like Jonathan Reid, traverse post-great War London. You may even be able to meet Jack the Ripper!

Unlike Lies of P, Vampyr is an action RPG, meaning it focuses more on action activities like quick battles and map exploration. Furthermore, Vampyr's London is a semi-open world and integrates multiple NPCs, providing an extra layer of interaction, which Lies of P lacks.

One of the most interesting aspects of Vampyr is that you can completely avoid combat and stealth in most environments while collecting clues, discovering secrets, and cultivating relationships to progress the adventure. Plus, its skill trees and easy-to-understand experience point system really improve your overall experience.

Vampyr really feels like a Souls-type game and provides similar experiences to what you can find in Lies of P. Still, it creates a more lonely feeling of darkness as a halo of mystery and soulless characters covers you.

The developers have excelled in crafting the Kingdom of Hermes, a once-mighty realm now lost and ravaged. The recreation of this kingdom is superb, showcasing numerous splendid neighborhoods, streets, and structures that deeply immerse you in the game's narrative. Here, the kingdom is overrun by plague-infected monsters, spreading disease and death unchecked.

Thymesia is overshadowed by its aggressive combat and magnificent battles that you can unleash in every corner of Hermes. The battles are bloodthirsty, as in most Souls-like games, but with a fast pace that requires the best of your attack and defense. Thymesia's plot may be a little forgettable, but progressing and fighting through its scenarios is so satisfying that gamers will really enjoy the course of events.
