In the first place, when playing Watch Dogs Legion PC, you immerse in a big city of London, but not the current one. This is rather a London of the future, full of the city's tech, historical sites, and buildings, such as Trafalgar Square,  and regular people. 

Story and Background

As mentioned, Watch Dogs Legion takes place in a near-future London and introduces gamers to a unique backstory. In this context, DedSec, the group of hackers as a protagonist of the saga, is persecuted as the culprit of three terrorist attacks that devastated London. 

Albion, the private security agency in charge of public security, transforms London into a surveillance state where people are continuously monitored by private militaries control. 

Nigel Cass, the Albion’s CEO, plans to spread peace throughout the city with a drone army named 'Project Themis.’ These weapons can identify and neutralize all kinds of attacks before they occur.

Now, members of the DedSec and the main characters have to infiltrate and jack different enterprises and buildings to discover the truth. 

Gameplay and Mechanics

The first aspect gamers can notice when they start playing Watch Dogs Legion is that they can explore the entire London either on foot, vehicle, or the underground. 

Gamers can visit London’s Boroughs, such as Westminster, Lambeth, Camden, Southwark, Wandsworth, Hackney, Islington, Tower Hamlets, and the City of London.

One of the points that differentiate this game from the previous games is that in Watch Dogs Legion, there is no main character. Gamers must select their first operative, that is, the first character they use to hack the different points in the city. 

Each option has its pros and cons. For example, Sebastian Carraway, the operative shown above, has a private phone connection with the Police Commissioner. This can be very useful in some specific points of the adventure, especially in the beginning. 

Another exciting feature of Legion Watch Dogs is that you can recruit operatives in all the city corners. The options are endless. They may be a bartender, a graffiti artist, a fallen boxer, a well-connected lawyer, an ex-spy, or a stark raving mad grandma. You just need to approach people they find in the streets and check their strong points and skills. 

To recruit them, gamers will have to complete missions, which generally involve searching an object or defending some people from a bully.  

All the recruits have their statistics. And in some cases, they may not join DedSec if they feel negative emotions about a character DedSec has in its roster. 

Once gamers recruit a new character, they are assigned to one of the following three classes:

• Combat.
• Stealth.
• Hacking.

Besides, gamers will have to complete several missions, including liberation missions, recruitment missions (for new playable characters), and side missions.

The central dynamic of the game is to use several types of devices, hackable objects, a variety of weapons, and the environment to infiltrate and fight against enemies. 

Multiplayer Mode

This mode, launched in March 2021, allows players to team up in cooperative gameplay with up to four players. Multiplayer includes several experiences for players, including:

• Co-operative missions (Tactical Ops);
• City events;
• Spiderbot Arena competitive mode;
• Invasion.

Just like the campaign mode, in the multiplayer mode, players can explore London freely and recruit new operatives. To recruit new characters, gamers have to spend ‘Influence,’ an in-game currency. 

Players can also use Influence to unlock character upgrades and gadgets. They can earn this currency by completing quests, buying it for real money, or finding it across the map.
