This PC Can’t Run Windows 11 - How To Fix It?
The latest Microsoft product is a sensation among customers! It’s bigger, better and faster than its predecessor and offers a lot more possibilities and features. Although it’s still only a few percent of the market, like with every Windows, sooner or later, it will take over the whole thing.
Some users, though, have reported some issues with Microsoft’s latest child, and we’re here to help them out. In order to provide the best possible experience for you, we’ve also prepared a pretty nifty offer for you - Microsoft Windows 11 at an affordable price to upgrade your system! As usual, at RoyalCdKeys, we strive to find the best products for even better prices.
Anyways, let’s get into the weeds of how to make your PC run the latest Windows 11.
Step 1 - Check Your Computer
Sometimes the most simple answer is, in the end, the best one. It could just be that your computer is a bit too old to run Windows 11. Many new operating systems require an absurd amount of minimum hardware requirements, so understandably, some machines will probably not be able to get around this issue.
Here are the minimum system requirements for Windows 11. Of course, it’s more or less, and some pieces of hardware can react differently to specific software, but this is how it plays out. It’s pretty much the same as in the case of the new operating system Windows 11, so if that one was ok for your hardware, this should be too.

Step 2 - PC Health Check App
The easiest way to check out if you’re computer is eligible to install Windows 11 is the PC Health Check App. It will show you if you can install the latest operating system and your overall device health. You will also get a detailed troubleshooting performance problems report.
PC Health Check App - Where to Find
If you already have Windows, go to your Search bar and put “PC Health Check” in. It should pop up immediately.
If not - you can install it easily. Just go to Health Check App official website. There, you will get very detailed instructions on how to get it.
Checking Windows 11 Eligibility
Now that we have our PC Health Check App installed, we can check if our system is eligible for Windows 11. There is a big rectangle with a Windows 11 logo, so you will surely not miss it. To check if your system is capable of running Windows 11, just click Check now button.
It will also show you all the errors that may contribute to your system being unable to be updated. We will discuss that further in the article.
Other PC Health Check App Features
While we’re here, it’s also great to check out some other things that can be good for your system. Here are some of the features that the PC Health Check App provides.
Windows Update
You can check out if there are any updates to your PC. Health Check App will guide you through them. You will also be able to go straight to Windows Update in Settings.
Backup and Sync
You can also create a new backup of your settings, and system preferences and change passwords among many devices. You can also put your stuff up to the OneDrive cloud. That way, all your data will be accessible on all your devices.
Startup Time

Windows 11 Eligibility - Common Issues
When it comes to computers, there are several potential problems you can encounter. Here are the most common issues you may meet:
- This PC can’t run Windows 11. TPM 2.0 is required to run Windows 11
- This PC can’t run Windows 11. The PC must support Secure Boot.
- This PC can’t run Windows 11. The processor isn’t supported for Windows 11.
We’re going to go through them point by point and see if any of the common solutions may help you with your problem. As always, this troubleshooting may not be enough, so if you have further issues, be sure to check out with your hardware provider.
TPM Problem
In this case, you can encounter two types of problems. First - you do have a TPM chip, but it is not enabled. Or you do not have it, and unfortunately, you will not be able to update your system to Windows 11.
As the second part is more or less impossible to solve, we’re going to try and take care of the first one.
Check Your TPM
First, you need to check out if your computer supports TPM. To do so, press the Windows Key and R. A dialog box will pop up. Type tpm.msc in the window and press enter. Another window will appear. There, you’ll need to find out your chip. Go to the Status section and see if The TPM is ready to use.
If your TPM ready to use is TPM 2.0 - you’re ready to install your Windows 11 with no problems. If it is lower than that or you get a “Compatible TPM cannot be found” window - then you won’t be able to upgrade.
How To Enable TPM 2.0
First thing you need to do is to restart your computer. While it’s turning on, press F2/F10/Del buttons to enter BIOS settings. Go to the Security tab. There you will be able to enable TMP State. After you do so, press F10 and enter to exit. Restart your computer and update to Windows 11.
Secure Boot Option
The next thing we’re going to try and fix is the “This PC can’t run Windows 11. The PC must support Secure Box” error.
What is Secure Boot? Well, in short, it keeps your computer secure. In the long - well, we would have to create a second article to just explain that part of it.
Anyways, to install Windows 11, you need this mode to be enabled. How to do it? Well, it’s pretty simple.
Enabling Secure Boot
Although it’s usually on, some things may suddenly flip the switch and create an unnecessary problem for you. Well, we got you covered.
To enable Secure Boot, press Windows Key and R. As in the previous example, a window will pop up. Put msinfo32.exe in it and confirm with Enter. Then select System Summary. Go to the right-side pane and find Secure Boot State. There are two things that can happen.
The first one is - your Secure Boot mode is “off”. It means that your system supports Secure Boot, you just need to turn it on. If it says it’s “unsupported,” you’ll need some more work to change it.
Checking UEFI Mode Support
Now we need to check if your system supports UEFI (Unified Extensible Firmware Interface). Let’s restart the computer and put F2, F10, and Del keys once again to enter BIOS. You still don’t need any system disk like many years ago.
Go to Boot Menu. See if you can find the Boot Mode tab and click it. The system will show you if your computer does or doesn’t support UEFI mode. If not - you won’t be able to enable Secure Boot and upgrade your system to Windows 11. If it does support it - go to the next point.
Enabling UEFI Mode
Once again, let’s restart the PC and enter BIOS settings again. Go to Boot Menu and select Secure Boot settings. Enable it. Now you can safely update your system.
Processor Issue
The last most common problem in installing Windows 11 is “This PC can’t run Windows 11. The processor isn’t supported for Windows 11.” It means literally what it says - your processor is not on the list of supported processors predicted by Microsoft. How to fix it?
You’ll just need to download Windows 11 ISO. Remember - don’t use Windows 11 Install Assistant.
First, go to the official Microsoft webpage and search for Download Windows 11 Disk Image (ISO). Click Windows 11 and download what pops up. Remember to choose 64-bit.
Next, open the Start Menu and go to your Search Bar. Type “regedit.” A little black window will pop up. There, go to Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\Setup\MoSetup. Right-click on New in the right pane and select DWORD (32-bit) Value.
Now, name the value “AllowUpgradesWithUnsupportedTPMOrCPU” without quotes. Double click on it and enter 1 in the Value field. Click OK and close it. Now you can safely update your system to Windows 11.
Windows 11 - Conclusions
We hope that we manage to present you with enough information to update your system safely. Usually, a new system has issues with older or unique hardware versions. It is still a very new system, so some future issues may arise.
Although it may seem like it’s problematic, it really isn’t. Most Windows operating systems had some issues during the start of their development, and this one is “only” as good as its predecessors. In all fairness, though, it has fewer problems than such problematic systems like Windows 7 or 8, so it’s good enough we feel those are the major issues.
If you need any further information or help with installing your Windows 11, feel free to ask, we’re happy to answer any of your questions.
Also - don’t be afraid to go into your BIOS or registry settings, as those things we’re going to be performing are rather basic and are not endangering your computer in any way. If you follow our guide to the bit, you will safely go through all the issues.
We hope you’ve enjoyed this guide, and we’ll see you in the next one.
