There are many things that make Prison Architect, and we’ll get to most of them, but one of the most interesting things about this game is an incredible story created by professional writer Chris Hastings.
The campaign itself consists of Chapters, each telling the story of a different character that is, in the end, connected to each other. The clock starts ticking from the start, so make sure you took care of, you know, the business.

There are two game modes in Prison Architect – the store campaign we’ve mentioned earlier and a sandbox mode.
As a ruthless warden, it is your duty to complete a campaign (that is also a tutorial). Then, head out to lay the last brick near a holding cell before the sun casts, and your prisoners raise their weary heads from the slumber to head to the workout area. Even the mafia dons have to sleep sometimes, you know?
The main goal in sandbox mode is to make your prisoners stay inside. You can do it in many different ways, but it’s best to show them how they can have a better future rather than treating them like animals and increasing gang activity in prison.
You can do a lot of customization in your prison. Think about what should be where and make sure the foundations are solid! Create your own offices, holding cells, individual cells, showers canteen, and many, many more! As a Prison Architect, you have many things at your disposal, so enjoy using them wisely!
You can gain a lot of money by running your own prison, so, if it’s profitable – sell it with profit and create an even better one! Or just retire. How many prisons do we really need after all?
You can choose from 3 different varieties of prisoners – low, normal, and max security, each bringing you different amounts of money from the government. Don’t mistreat them, make sure they have good food, an education program, or some labor for job experience.
The building aspect, however interesting, is still not the only thing that makes this game so popular. There is also a managing aspect that you should consider while creating your own Shawshank.
Money is everything, so build while you can, but not too much, because you’ll end up broke. If you don’t create enough possibilities for your inmates or won’t arm your guards with enough equipment – you’ll have another problem on your hands.
Delegate your duties to the office staff that can unlock parts of a research tree for you. There are many options, so make sure you check what your inmates need, not what you think they might!

It put me in so many situations where I thought there was no way of getting out of it. But there always is something you can do if you think properly. It’s like an escape room for your strategic mind.

RomaniaIt’s funny, it’s quirky and it’s one of my favorites. I actually recommended the game to my father and he’s a big fan as well. Sometimes we have a competition for the worst design you can possibly think of and we have so much fun doing so because of the possibilities the game provides. So if you want to excel or be a sh*t designer like my father, you will love this one! Endless entertainment.
