NieR: Replicant ver 1.22474487139 is an updated version of a third-person, action-RPG game initially released in 2010.
Even the original developers behind the game have returned for its modern upgrade. For example, the mesmerizing iconic soundtrack is newly recorded by composer Keiichi Okabe. The acclaimed director of NieR: Automata, Yoko Taro, returned to work on the remake. Also, Producer Yosuke Saito, known from NieR: Automata and Dragon Quest X, makes his appearance.

His little sister, Yonah, fell terminally ill to a Black Scrawl disease. As a young, kindhearted boy, he makes a promise that he will find a cure for her illness.
Soon after, he meets Grimoire Weiss, a strange talking tome. He will help him unravel why the sickness and strange beasts threaten the world. They set up for a journey in search of the mysterious Sealed Verses.
You’re going to meet an unlikely group of allies along your journey to discover a thousand-year lie. Nier and his companions aren’t holy knights, and most of their decisions are morally gray. Sometimes, their morality is pushed even further.
The game’s mechanics are pretty similar to its successor - NieR: Automata. It doesn’t have a vast, open world to explore, but it’s divided into separate zones. Progressing through the story unlocks more areas to visit. It also features new characters, storyline plots, and endings.
Like most RPGs, NieR: Replicant contains both main and side quests. If you plan to unlock all endings and complete all side quests, you're looking at about 67 hours of gameplay.
The main strength of NieR: Replicant relies upon combat. It’s a uniquely customizable blend of swordplay and powerful magic. With the 1.22 version, the animations are smoother and comparable to NieR: Automata.
Now you can combine weapon combat with your character’s magic. Freely move around and charge any spell and cast them while attacking. Chain various attacks into devastating combinations to utilize combat’s full potential.
Customize your character’s magic, weapons, and skills with the power of Words against bosses. These Words can be added to weapons, spells, and defensive techniques. It’s used to improve your strength, guard break, magic power, and so on.
The variety of different tools of destruction will help you throughout your playthrough. Pick from one or two-handed swords, spears, etc., each with its distinct fighting style and move lists. Every weapon can be upgraded and modified.
To upgrade your gear, you have to find necessary ingredients scattered around the world. You can upgrade your hero’s statistics by using experience points, as in every RPG. Those are gained by completing quests and killing enemies.
One of the game’s unique features is its replayability. If you beat the game just once from start to credits, you’d be missing out on half of the story.
The second playthrough is arguably the best, offering new scenes and dialogues. Knowing the story's ending changes everything and brings some fresh perspective.
