Ah, Cuphead. One of the most demanding and breathtaking games in recent gaming history. Original jazz recordings, boss battles, local co-op - it’s still as amazing as it was during the premiere of this incredible game.
Check out this painstakingly created, beautifully painted game with watercolor backgrounds, and interesting games within the game. Learn powerful super moves, choose one of many new weapons, or just do a classic run. Traverse strange worlds, acquire artifacts, and don’t use the same techniques twice - the game developers will leave you flabbergasted.
Although the release date was a while ago, people still play Cuphead to this day. For the past few years, it has been a gold standard for difficult games. Whether you play North America version or any other, StudioMDHR Entertainment Inc created an indie space classic for years to come.
Cuphead is an amazing game published by Studio MDHR Entertainment Inc on many different platforms (now available also on Xbox Series X/S). It’s an animated, old-Disney-styled cartoon-drawn platform game.
It started as an indie project and quickly became an internet sensation thanks to the original art style, amazing graphics, and high difficulty. You can become Cuphead or Mughead if you enjoy some co-operation with your friends. Moreover, incredible boss fights and beautiful style made this an instant classic.
What else made Cuphead so successful? Let’s see!
If you’re into the gaming industry, you know one thing - multiplayer is the key to making your game extremely popular and addictive. Massive multiplayer, of course. Co-op - not so much.
But - many gamers who enjoy some PvE or PvP actions with a group of friends look out for any new co-op game that appears on the market. And it seems that Cuphead landed just fine!
In the game, you can become Cuphead in the single-player or his brother - Mughead. The plot is simple (and terrifying!) Brothers lost a gamble against the Devil, so they need to travel across the Inkwell Isles to look for the poor souls who are also in debt with the devil. You know, normal stuff.
Thanks to the incredible fast-paced action and amazing graphics, Cuphead quickly became a go-to game for all the co-op experience enthusiasts. It was indeed a perfect combo - great graphics, fantastic boss fights, and demanding gameplay.
Speaking of difficulty - Cuphead has three different levels of difficulty.
Simple Mode is basically a tutorial with fewer phases of the bosses. You can dodge the attacks easily and probably get an easy kill on most of them.
The regular mode is a normal mode, and in other words, HELL difficulty. I mean, it’s hard, I have to say.
Then there is the last mode, and you go there at your own risk. An Expert Mode is available after you beat the other, so it is only for the ones with the strongest nerves. The things go down there!
The main attraction of the Cuphead is the Bosses. There are 19 of them, and each one has a backstory to tell. Dark Souls series showed us that we need some boss fight action with strategies and cunning rather than dodging and just putting loads of bullets into one guy who will run away right after we beat him.
Here, you need to have a way to kill the big man. You can’t just simply shoot until they die; you must wait for the right occasion and THEN smash them with everything you got. And you can choose from a lot - there is a whole arsenal to use on these “bad guys” (or just very unlucky guys, to be frank).
You have to admit, the graphics on this game are incredible! It’s one of the most beautifully drawn games in recent history. It also coincides with the retro trend of course, but who are we kidding - we’re up for it 100%!
Inspired by the Walt Disney cartoons from the 30s and 40s, those drawn animations will never fade! Especially considering the fact that the artwork is not only a copy of the lat Mr. Disney’s work but an elevation. It uses modern technology to enhance the tremendous creative visuals of classic cartoons.
Cuphead is one of these games that everyone enjoyed. Critics, journalists, and even some developers - they all loved the crazy and wacky world of the Cuphead.
The numbers speak for themselves - over 3 million people decided that it’s a great thing to spend their hard-earned money on! It’s not only a game, after all. Cuphead has created a community with millions of fanarts, backstory, and more! There is even a Netflix show that presents the adventures of the two, well, cups!
