No Man’s Sky
Developer : Squad
Release Date : June 2011
Platforms : Linux, macOS, Microsoft Windows, PS4, Xbox One, PS5, Xbox Series X/S
Meta Score: 88
Cross-play: Xbox One/Series X/S, PlayStation 4/5, PC, Nintendo Switch.
Starting with the sensational No Man’s Sky . It’s one of the games you may have overlooked, but it’s a great title. The game looks incredible, from the great and vast space to the ecosystems of different planets; it seems that every time we look at the game, there is something wonderful to gaze upon. If you play games, you have probably heard of it, as it was the talk of the town back in the day.
Even though it had a rough start, it was upgraded and upgraded until the perfection we see nowadays. You are traveling through space in your very own spaceship that you can modify, buy a new one, and add some big guns to be the menace of space.
On the ground, you can look for resources, find different creatures from various planets, and even befriend some of them. Of course, it’s not an easy task, as it will take some time and energy to tame them, but we are positive that you will make that happen. There is some plot for you to check out, and you can surely follow it to the core, but the vast space allows you to meet dozens of aliens who are all about giving you tasks. We especially enjoyed the creation of the base with friends, as you can make it cozy with decorations and GUNS TO PROTECT YOU FROM STRANGERS. Great stuff all the way!
It’s really a free-for-all open-world game. And the best thing about it is that you can enjoy it with your friends. It can support cross-platform play, so you can play with your buddies on different equipment. You can play on any platform: Xbox, PlayStation, PC, or Nintendo Switch.
It’s one of those epic games you will wonder about before going to sleep, thinking of what changes you can make to your base and how you can annoy your friends. So, for a cross-platform game – this is high on our list.
Valheim
Release Date: March 2023
Platform(s): Xbox One, Xbox Series X and Series S, Linux, Microsoft Windows
Developer(s): Iron Gate Studio, Fishlabs, Piktiv
Meta Score: N/D
Cross-play: PC, Xbox
Another great title to have fun with is Valheim . You may feel this is simple, as the graphics are fairytale-like, but you could not be further from the truth. Valheim is an all-out survival title that you can enjoy on Xbox consoles and PC alike, and it will make your keyboards and gamepads moist from all the sweat you put into surviving.
You are, indeed, living in the Nordic God's land. The thing about it is that you must find resources in those beautiful lands, skipping with friends and family. But on the flip side, you will have many problems with the top guys who will do everything to make your life in this fantasy world a little bit harder.
You will experience giant monsters and even “giant-er” resource issues, as the most interesting ones will be pretty hard to get. That’s why you must work together to make the best out of the dire situation you have found yourself in.
Fighting against giant monsters is also a great way of spending time with friends, especially if those are the trolls you always hated in the comment sections. At least, that’s what we found so special. So, if you don’t have the same platform as your friends and want to play some survival (excluding Playstation consoles), this title is great for you!
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3
Release Date: November 2023
Developer: Sledgehammer Games
Platforms: Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S
Meta Score: 56
Cross-play: Playstation 4, Playstation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PC
Another title on our list is Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 . But – you can count the famous Warzone from the battle royale genre, as those games are upgraded with the new Call of Duty game. So, what’s the hype all about with those games, and why do people even want to buy them each year?
The answer is simple: doesn’t matter the quality of the latest product; it’s always a passable game at least, and with people being used to a certain kind of gameplay, it’s only understandable that they would buy another one and another one.
How is this one? Well, the opinions are divided. With the new updates, though, it seems like the game it was supposed to be at the launch. We return to Verdansk and Kastovia, fighting against Vladimir Makarov to prevent him from destroying the world or leading it into everlasting war.
Speaking of wars – the famous console wars does not have standing here, as it’s a fully cross-platform title where you can play the whole campaign with your friend or foe. Additionally, you can face your friends in the robust multiplayer mode, with dozens of guns and equipment you can unlock by getting better at the game. Our favorite is definitely KV Inhibitor, as it allows you to eliminate enemies from the other side of the map, just as we like it – far from crowds and clean.
And, if you are unsure whether it’s your cup of tea, you can just go ahead and play some Warzone. It’s free-to-play, and you will taste what you can expect from the classic Call of Duty game. It’s as fast as Rocket League and as vast as GTA V, so don’t skip this one!
Monster Hunter: Rise
Release Date: Nintendo Switch March 2021, Windows January 2022, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S January 2023
Developer: Capcom
Platforms: PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Switch
Meta Score: 88/100
Cross-play: PC, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One
The next game on our list is Monster Hunter: Rise , one of the best games for creating your sword to kill a giant monster. This title is all about strategy. You need to track a monster you want to hunt, find its weaknesses, and choose the right weapons to kill it. You are going on a hunt with a friend to fight those creatively made monsters. In this installment, you have the opportunity not only to kill them alone but also to engage your friends in some sword fighting and maze swinging. You just have to try this axe, that is also a sword, which is also a sword and shield that can also be charged. Well, you get it.
The best thing about this game is undoubtedly the creative aspect of the weapons. Each one has many different modes, depending on the enemy you are facing. You may think those are some of the most basic weapons at first glance, but you’d be wrong. Each one of them changes into a different shape and form. You can charge attacks, use lighter or harder attacks, and overall – really differentiate how you are murdering your enemies.
And you can craft new weapons from each enemy that will make a more significant impact. The weapons are based on elements, so you can use fire, water, earth, and more advanced lightning or explosives. Each enemy has some strengths and weaknesses, so you can imagine that fighting them can get easier with time.
The creatures are extremely well-done, especially if you get to cut off some different parts of them, like tails or wings. It looks and feels impressive. Monster Hunter: Rise is a great title, that you can enjoy within the Microsoft Gaming platform on PCs and Xbox consoles. With such a competitive scene, the crossplay support can be an argument for this title over other ones.
Destiny 2
Release Date: September 2017
Developer: Bungie
Platforms: PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Stadia
Meta Score: 87/100
Cross-play: PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Playstation 4,5
Another excellent game for all the platforms is Destiny 2. It’s a game that cannot be overlooked, as hundreds of thousands of people play it each day. If you like some giant space-opera action games, this is the title you were all waiting for. You can become the universe's savior or join the dark forces that will lead you astray. And – you can do it all with your friends' help.
In this game, it seems that there are little to no limitations. With three distinct classes, dozens of different modifications to each skill-set, and the giant number of weapons you can unlock or buy, this is a no-brainer. If you don’t want to buy it, make sure to look for a fellow named Xur. He’s giving away some pretty neat weaponry, so if you want to get something special, find his latest location on YouTube. Someone always posts it daily.
It’s a title that makes you think – we have come a long way from the Fall Guys kind of titles with some basic physics and graphics to the modern AAA titles. Even mobile devices can now have better graphics than games from a few years ago.
The plot of this game is gigantic and all-encompassing. You are a Guardian stationing in the Last City where humanity fights again, well, not to spoil anything, let’s just say – the bad guys. This is how the live service game should look like, and you feel it every step of the way. And it does not matter if you choose a Titan, Warlock, or Hunter. In the end, you will be able to become the killing machine with every one of those. And, with so many subclasses in the add-ons, the game continues for console players and PC gamers of all platforms. There are so many players online; it cannot be wrong! So, get into your best armor and get into some murdering!
Borderlands 3
Release Date: September 2019
Developer(s): Gearbox Software
Platforms: PlayStation 4, Windows, Xbox One, macOS, Stadia, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5
Meta Score: 91
Cross-play: PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Mac, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store
But if you want something on a more crazy side of things, you can always go for Borderlands 3. This is a game that will make you forget about all the others! It has incredible humor, great characters, and some of the most satisfying loot-finding ever in a video game. You will never be bored with thousands of generated weapons, each with a different skill set, especially if you enjoy it with some friends!
Borderlands 3 is full of fast-paced fighting sequences with millions of minions heading your way each moment. There are four classes for you to choose from: some magical type, some pet-friendly type, the mech warrior, and the hunter. So, there’s something for everyone. You can go for either multiplayer or solo mode, but regarding the title of this article, we presume you’d take the first option. We just have to give the fan-favorite award to the Beastmaster though, as those cute little puppies and bird he summons are a great addition to somewhat stale pick of characters.
It’s lovely, light-hearted fun, and with this installment, you can travel to different planets, seek the Vaults in Pandora, and challenge the whole world with your big guns! As it’s one of those games that you can enjoy the entire campaign with your friend and receive occasional deal communications from Marcus ammunition, it’s something you cannot miss out on!
Minecraft

Minecraft is one of the GOATs in the gaming industry, as it’s one of the titles played from 2011 to this day, on and on each day. You can play it on Xbox, PlayStation, and other platforms. Even on the phone. It’s astonishing how accessible it is.
Thankfully, we are here to give you a breakdown of this game if you’ve never played it. The basic idea is simple, as all things are – you live in this cube-based world where you gather resources by picking them up from the ground and creating constructions based on what you found. You can craft items for your character or build blocks of statues for shelter or just for fun. You should also check the rich modding community, where you can even create your own Pokemon world in Minecraft. Or just get a rat mode, there are some weird ones out there as well.
The game is practically limitless in scope, allowing you to create whatever you like. People had a lot of fun with this concept; you can see works of art created in the game. But, as it’s a game for all ages and time investors, you can play it as you please. There are essentially three modes you can play in this game:
Survival Mode – in this one, you need to gather resources and gather them fast, as your goal is to, ultimately, survive! You need to find shelter before it gets dark, or you will be visited by zombie-blocks or worse…
Creative Mode – in this mode, you can do whatever you’d like, as you are granted with unlimited resources and can do whatever you want to. You need to paint something with your imagination – creative mode is where it’s at. And, if you want to find something in the game and don’t know if it would suit your construction, you can just go ahead and check it out. It’s for beginners and advanced players alike!
- Adventure Mode – finally, there’s the Adventure Mode. It has a story, some puzzles waiting for you, and plenty of things coming your way. It’s not Faulkner, but it seems like good fun in its essence. Worth checking out.

When it comes to games you can play with your friends, you cannot miss out on the classic Deep Rock Galactic. It is the game from the games by the gamers. No one else can explain the space dwarfs concept, which is roaming through the world, trying to find resources to get even greater modern pick-axes for their picking needs.
This game has a lot to do, even though it may seem like a pretty basic concept at first glance. You can choose the type of dwarf you want to be, whether it’s more on the lookout or the fighting kind – there are plenty of choices for your dwarf society.
After you find the rare resources you were looking for, you sell them on the markets and – go for even greater hunts. At the ship, you do what all dwarves do in their spare time – have a beer and play basketball. The ship is great for chit-chats, so if you want, you can hope to ours and tell us all about the Galadriel’s hair or whatever floats your boat.
This game has four classes – a Gunner, Driller, Scout, and Engineer. Each has different abilities that will help you progress in the resource-gathering process. And trust us, you will not be disappointed for not picking this or that class, as the premise of this game is that you develop each one of them quickly.
It’s dwarfing time – as they say, so get your pickaxes ready and delve into this beautiful dwarf world. If you didn’t know it already – yes, there are many dwarfs puns there. So, get on board, and let’s get ready for some drilling!

If you have never heard of this game, here’s the breakdown. It’s the presentation of what would happen if dinosaurs were still alive, and we would ride them while fighting with each other on some stranded island. It’s pretty fun, isn’t it?
