Dead Space is making a comeback for all its fans out there. If you have never heard of this title, it’s one of the survival horror games of the first decade of the 20th century. And, similarly to System Shock, the series got its very own Dead Space remake, so we thought – wouldn’t it be great to find some new and exciting games to play after finishing it? Or – for the die-hard fans, maybe a similar game that will evoke those nostalgic memories from the classic title?

Well then, it’s time to go to the space station and find the spiritual successor to this delightful feast of mutated humans hiding in the shadows. This is – games like Dead Space. Let’s dive in!

Starting with – Pacify ! This game will remind you of those feelings of unease against a supernatural threat that was all over the Dead Space series. In this installment, you get to experience it by yourself and in a co-op environment to pacify this evil ghost finally! Every moment you spend in the haunted house will get even more dangerous, so it’s a must-play for those who like something that will thrill them.

But it’s not like you’re the only one in the house. You have plenty of other teams doing the same investigation against the ghost you do. So, as a paranormal investigator in this house, you need to compete with other players in the room. During the game, you must eliminate the ghosts and the other teams with tricks like making noise to lure them in.

The game is great fun, especially with someone who is a friend of yours. The original game of Dead Space was about hiding and striking at the right moment, finding the monsters' weaknesses, and avoiding combat as much as possible. So, if it’s something you feel you’d be good at, try it. Looking for clues and hiding from jump scares has never been more fun than with this one!

Next up on our list is GTFO . While it leans more towards the Resident Evil vibe than Dead Space, playing this game evoked a similar sense as our Dead Space playthrough. The feeling of unknown, desolation, and the fact that you can just die instantly out of nowhere.

It’s more of a Dead Space 3 experience than the original game. It’s faster, and you are much more fearless than Issac Clarke, but it doesn’t change the fact that those corridors in GTFO are familiar to what we’ve seen in Dead Space games.

The basic concept is this – you are a prisoner in the underground complex governed by The Warden. No one knows who it is or where he came from. In this dystopian future on a foreign planet (sound familiar?), you travel to what looks like a space based on a set of various missions given to you by the Warden. The key to survival is to work together and pick the right equipment before entering the wild.

In this first-person shooter, you must strategize, as the creatures roaming through the prison complex are out to get you. And they will if you’re not careful. The danger walks around the corner, just like in Dead Space, so head out wisely and work together if you don’t want to get yourself killed in the process.

And if you don’t like aliens but would love to be scared of things – why not give Phasmophobia a go? This is a game that Issac Clarke would most likely never play, as it’s so similar to his experience that it would traumatize him once again. Instead of trying to survive on a ship filled with weird aliens, you investigate paranormal haunted homes. It’s the thrill of a horror game and the playability of a survival title, sort of like Silent Hill. And we would put some Silent Hill games on this list if they finally released one! But there are some rumors about some remakes coming up, so – fingers crossed!

Nevertheless, let’s go back to Phasmophobia. It’s a great social game for all of you who would like to be scared to the extremes with a bunch of your friends. The central concept is similar to what you have seen in the classic survival horror games. You need to exorcise different entities around the city with an EMF reader and cameras. To capture those beings, you need some spirit boxes and ways to lure those creatures in with tricks, sounds, or catches (preferably not your friends).

It’s still being developed but gaining popularity as we speak, so it’s a time as good as any to join in. In our opinion – it's worth checking out!

Another scary game on our list is The Forest . And let’s face it. Those enemies from the Dead Space were not aliens, were they? They were mutated humans! So, in the good “mutated human” spirit, let’s find out some people who are about to survive in harsh conditions. This time – on the planet Earth!

For some reason, you have found yourself in a relatively poor situation. Your plane has crashed, and you’re the only survivor. At least – that’s all you know for now. You are desperately looking for your son, who was there with you on the plane.

Similar to Dead Space, the best thing about The Forest is the enemies. They are widely different and cannibalistic. Additionally, those are not your stupidified zombies but rather intelligent groups that can create tactics based on what’s happening in front of them. The more you meet, the stronger they get. Additionally, you don’t only need to worry about killing mutated humans but also about food, water, and shelter. It’s a natural survival game, not only in the name. So, if you like this kind of story, give this one a chance. And, if you appreciated Dead Space, you have even more reasons to play it.

Next on our list is Hunt: Showdown . This time, we are killing supernatural monsters in the 1800s. Does it feel like a good idea? Well, probably not. But if you’re trying to stay alive while also getting some bucks in the process – this may be a profitable line of work. You are part of a group of bounty hunters, tracking down some swamp monsters. Each match can host up to 12 players. You can go solo or in teams of two or three players.

You must target the monster or fight against the other teams as you progress through the swamps. With each step of the way, you will get better and better equipment and create an even more significant threat to your enemies. Ammo, weapons, and other healing items – everything you will find can become an asset that will give you an edge over your competitors.

But there’s a catch that you will quickly see during your first game. If you die – you die. There are no second chances. The game is pretty strict when it comes to that aspect. So, the stakes are high.

Like Dead Space, the threat is everywhere, and you are not this powerful being that can instantly kill everyone. While surrounded by enemies, every straight bullet can be deadly. So, you need to think fast and strategize to keep yourself afloat. If you’re looking for a game like Dead Space, but to play with other people as well, this is the title for you.

Next, a pick that you may not have seen coming, but it’s still something that we can defend – Dishonored ! At first glance, it’s something that you would not associate with Dead Space. Ultimately, it’s not a survival horror but a cartoonish stealth game where you can murder everyone on your way.

However, it's not as simple as that. Arkane Studios has a reputation for developing games that go beyond the typical "go there and kill an enemy" formula, delivering titles with rich narratives and profound depth. It’s the same with Dishonored. If you put a high enough level, everything becomes a threat that can kill you in an instant. Many fans have pointed out that this game feels like a fun experience at first glance but has some serious dark undertones.

Similarly to Dead Space, there is a lot of waiting, crawling around, trying not to get yourself killed, and utilizing unusual tools to do so. You need to have camouflage and stay out of sight – it’s totally a Dead Space kind of game! And, if you think about the environment you have found yourself in, the grim reality will start settling in, and you will quickly understand that – well, it’s a bit of a terrifying experience. Plague of rats, murdering royalty – it’s all dark and twisted, but in good fun in the end! We definitely recommend checking out this game, whether you feel like it’s similar to Dead Space or not. It’s just that good.

And finally, we have The Blackout Club . If you liked Dead Space and would want something on a bit lighter side of things while also having a lot of thrill during the game, and – you’re also a Stranger Things fan – The Blackout Club is the game for you!

In order to fight against the secret society that is causing blackouts in the city and the plague of amnesia, kids create a club to fight off the evil in their environment and take back their town! In this game, you collect evidence and do everything you can not to be seen by the enemies. In the meantime, like in Dead Space, you solve puzzles, analyze data, and overall – try to find out what exactly is going on.

The game is a lot of fun, a little bit scary, but mostly – great work all around. In addition to some good storytelling, you also get to experience it differently each time you play, as the levels are procedurally generated. It may not be on top of our list, but it’s still a pretty good game to check out and definitely a novelty title!
