Hogwarts Legacy is the latest release of the Wizarding World franchise, taking place in the Harry Potter universe, but a century before the events you can experience in books and movies. It’s an action role-playing game occurring in an open world depicted by the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, the classic set for most action in the original artwork.
In this game, officially launched in February 2023, you control a customizable student who must attend classes and learn spells to progress through the adventure. But things are not as easy as it sounds! A dark mystery revolves around the school, dependencies, and nearby areas, immersing the experience in a deep hole of secrets, intrigues, conspiracies, and more.
In Hogwarts Legacy, you can decide the next step you want to take. It’s a free experience, so it’s up to you if you want to wander around the school, explore each room and lounge, or prove your combat abilities by facing powerful creatures in the surrounding areas of the castle.
The two different versions of Hogwarts Legacy we will discuss in the subsequent sections bring the same adventure. Consequently, you won’t have problems experiencing all the main and side quests from the very beginning to the end. Having said this, let’s delve into these two editions and their differences. But let’s check first the benefits of having acquired the pre-ordered version.
Pre-order Bonuses
Having acquired the pre-ordered version of both versions, either the deluxe of the standard version, allowed you to acquire these both articles.
The pre-order bonuses include the mount Onyx Hippogriff and the Felix Felicis recipe.
Onyx Hippogriff Mount
The Onyx Hippogriff Mount will allow you to travel to different locations on the world map, reducing the time of traveling and improving the experience.
Felix Felicis Potion Recipe.
The Felix Felicis recipe, on the other hand, allows you to craft Liquid Luck. This potion will increase your luck for a period, allowing you to see chests in the surroundings for one in-game day.
Hogwarts Legacy Deluxe Edition
Hogwarts Legacy’s Deluxe Edition is the premium version of this long-awaited video game in the Harry Potter fantasy world.
As its name indicates, it’s a deluxe version of the title, either the digital deluxe edition or the physical deluxe edition. Both deluxe editions are the same regarding content. The unique difference is that with the physical version, you will have the physical product in your hands.
Hogwarts Legacy Deluxe Edition Global Steam CD Key is available on RoyalCDKeys.
The deluxe edition comes with the Dark Arts cosmetic set, which includes the Dark Arts Garrison Hat and Clothing. You will also get the Thestral mount.
The Thestral Mount
The Thestral mount will carry out the same function as the Onyx Hippogriff mount, which means taking you from one point of the map to another.
Note. In order to unlock both mounts, you must first complete The High Keep main quest.
The requirements of this quest are the following:
Complete Professor Garlick’s Assignment I mission.
Unlock Wingardium Leviosa Spell.
Dark Arts Garrison Hat
The Dark Arts Garrison Hat corresponds to a headwear appearance item that is only available through the deluxe editions. You can only receive it after being sorted into a house. Since it’s an appearance, it does not affect the general stats of your character.
Note. This cosmetic is only available in the Digital Deluxe Edition.
Dark Arts Cosmetic Set
This cosmetic clothing set includes three cosmetic bonus features:
The Dark Arts Robe. This robe is the first cosmetic of the Dark Arts Pack and an appearance item you get when purchasing the Hogwarts Legacy’s Collector’s Edition or the Deluxe Edition. If you purchase any of the above editions, you will get it at the beginning of the game. It has a black-and-white scheme and animated skulls that make this outfit really cool.
– A robe suited to those seeking great power, no matter the cost.
The Dark Arts Robe
The Dark Arts Gloves. The second appearance item of the special Dark Arts Pack is gettable through purchasing the Deluxe Edition. You can receive it at the start of the game.
– A pair of black rivet gloves.
The Dark Arts Gloves
The Dark Arts Ensemble. It’s another outfit appearance item that makes your character look like a Death Eater.

This Dark Arts pack is also available in the Hogwarts Legacy Collector’s Edition. Collector’s Edition owners can equip this set by opening the Pause Menu, selecting [Gear], hovering the cursor over the specific slot, and selecting the button to [Change Appearance]. Finally, select the Dark Arts clothing to change your appearance.

If you want to experience the Unforgivable Curses, then the Dark Arts Battle Arena is the place you’re looking for. When battling in the arena, you have four curses available: Crucio, Confringo, Imperio, and Avada Kedavra. You will have to face five waves of enemies. It’s the right time to use this powerful magic!

Hogwarts Legacy Standard Edition
The preordered Standard Edition of Hogwarts Legacy is pretty similar to the preordered Deluxe Edition. If you purchased this version before its launch, you received the Onyx Hippogriff Mount and the Felix Felicis recipe. This preordered version also came with the “Haunted Hogsmeade Shop” quest, which allows you to run your shop. Note that this quest is only available in the PlayStation version.
Beyond this, the Standard Edition just comes with the base game and in-game content, which is good enough for Harry Potter fans and people interested in enjoying the adventure. Undoubtedly, this official release will get expansions and DLCs in the future. Therefore, Standard Editions are a good alternative to start with the game.
