Iron Lung

  • Release Date: March 9, 2022

  • Publisher: David Szymanski

  • Developer: David Szymanski

  • Platforms: PC

Iron Lung throws you into a relentless struggle for survival in the darkest reaches of the ocean. Operating machinery, fixing leaks, and crafting items are essential skills you must master to stay alert and alive.

You form a team and explore an underwater world of peril and unpredictable challenges. The game’s emphasis on teamwork and cooperation is reminiscent of the space crew dynamics in Barotrauma. As you dive deeper into the abyss, you’ll encounter horrifying sea creatures and supernatural entities that lurk in the darkness. This game is a testament to the fact that danger can come from the ocean's depths, just as it does from the vastness of space. So, if you’re a fan of Barotrauma’s exploration and survival elements, I’d say Iron Lun is a title you won’t want to miss.

Horror games typically do not scare me, and Iron Lung is not an exception. However, what it did well compared to other games is hitting my other emotions. I have never felt more uncomfortable sitting through something. Just being in this dingy, rusty sub, all these strange noises near you, as you have to press buttons in the game with your mouse. It all comes together to create this environment that is just not right, and I love it.

Subnautica Series

  • Release Date: January 23, 2018 - May 14, 2021

  • Publisher: Unknown Worlds Entertainment

  • Developer: Unknown Worlds Entertainment

  • Platforms: PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch

The Subnautica series is a must-play for fans of Barotrauma and underwater survival adventures; these games offer an immersive and breathtaking exploration experience that kept me hooked for hours.

Subnautica drops you into an alien underwater world where you must navigate the depths of a vibrant and dangerous ocean. The series is filled with RPG elements as you craft equipment, explore a vast and mysterious sea, and complete missions to unravel the planet's secrets. Like in Barotrauma, the gameplay is unpredictable, and you’ll encounter a wide range of marine life, some friendly and others not. Survival skills are paramount as you gather resources, manage your health, and build a base to stay alive.

Subnautica Below Zero takes you to an icy alien world, introducing new challenges, creatures, and environments. It continues the series’ tradition of offering unpredictable gameplay and a compelling storyline. Whether you’re exploring the vibrant depths of the ocean in the original Subnautica or braving the frigid waters of Below Zero, the Subnautica series is a perfect fit for fans of Barotrauma. It was one of my most fun (and terrifying) experiences playing, feeling free and terrified in this universe. If you are interested in a horrifying experience at sea, buy it; if you are afraid of this type of game, buy it too.

Subnautica Series is available at RoyalCDKeys.

  • Publisher: InnerSloth LLC

  • Developer: InnerSloth LLC

  • Platforms: PC, iOS, Android, Nintendo Switch

While Among Us differs in genre from Barotrauma, it shares a critical aspect with the game: the importance of teamwork, communication, and deception.

Among Us is a multiplayer party game that places players on spaceships or space stations. The twist?

Among the crew members are impostors whose goal is to eliminate their fellow crewmates and sabotage the ship’s operations without getting caught. It’s a social deduction game that relies heavily on communication and cooperation, as players work together to identify the impostors among them.

This game encourages players to form alliances, share information, and engage in intense discussions to unmask the impostors or maintain their hidden identities. It’s an experience that’s not only immensely fun but also an excellent exercise in teamwork and deception, much like the interpersonal dynamics found in Barotrauma.

Whether working as a diligent crew member, watching your ship’s systems, or plotting as an impostor to sow chaos and confusion, Among Us delivers unpredictable gameplay that keeps me engaged and constantly second-guessing my friends and allies. It’s the perfect game for those looking to test their communication deduction skills, and its accessibility on multiple platforms makes it easy for friends to connect and enjoy the thrill of deception and teamwork together.

So, gather your crew, watch your back, and prepare for a social gaming experience that’s out of this world in Among Us.

Among Us is available at RoyalCDKeys.
