Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is the first hack and slash game from the Metal Gear series. The other games are known for their stealth gameplay, but this one defies everything they are. 

As such, this title takes an entirely different approach by introducing a new protagonist – Raiden – along with incredible game features.

This time, over-the-top action gameplay is on the table, and even though fans didn’t love this spin-off, it’s way more playable for casual gamers. 

The combat system presented in this game brings new gameplay mechanics that you'll love. This includes slow-motion movements and slicing combos that will be recurrent in this new character.

Gods have called you, and you must answer. Help them free themselves from the titan Typhon and earn your place among new gods. Develop your character from a third-person perspective and observe his abilities evolving as you progress.

The open world of this action RPG consists of 7 different regions. Due to the size of the map, the development team created a companion, Phosphor, which will help you in your missions.

Mainly released back in 2001 and relaunched in 2019, Onimusha: Warlords brings a new samurai adventure in a weird 3D game with a fixed camera. This edition brings the original intense swordplay that players love, along with a dramatic story with hope, revenge, demons, and more.

In this demon-hunting campaign, you can use three different weapons – the Slender Katana, a Broadsword, and a Naginata – that will change how you deliver your attacks.

Now, even though this is not an open-world RPG, the title brings completable side missions, but they aren’t that relevant to the main story.

As an old-fashioned game, players will go through the battle without any tutorial and must learn skills by force. This can be great for try-hards but not that good for casual players that just want to kill some demons here and there.

Getting out of Rutledge Asylum, Alice has to live with those terrible memories. Players will enter into her deep distorted consciousness to help the protagonist escape a horrible fate by going to Wonderland.

The problem is that all that time without going into this magical land and the psychological practices she received have left this world scarred and distorted. 

A great evil has taken over what once was her magical refuge. And it’s up to Alice to save it from that madness that is consuming them both in equal parts.

You’ll have to use different weapons and gear according to the stage you complete. Face deformed monsters and help your friends trapped in the nightmare of Wonderland.

With a top-down perspective and tons of customization, Diablo III presents one of the best games in the hack and slash genre. You’ll be able to choose different races or professions while exploring a vast open world filled with monsters and secondary quests that you’ll get to complete.

Roguelike combat is also part of this dungeon crawler, as there are tons of fun and many awards to get in this incredible RPG. The long-time series fans that have played the other games from the franchise can still be part of the Diablo III world with this great entry.
