No intention of spoiling the game; in the last chapters, you will find a deep secret that will crush your gaming experience as you know it until now. The funniest thing of all is that this secret has been revealed from the very beginning of the game, and you didn't notice. In other words, if you put together the first letter of each of the thirteen chapters, you will unravel the secret message. It’s up to you to do it or not!

Blasphemous is an incredible indie title developed by a small Spanish studio that really kicked the table of the Metroidvania genre five years ago. Currently, there is a sequel providing improvements to the first chapter; however, the first installment is an ode to video games and a benchmark of the genre.

Blasphemous is heavily inspired by Castlevania: Symphony of the Night and other games of the genre, such as Spelunky. This is the reason why you’ll experience scenarios inside castles, catacombs, and caustic caverns throughout the entire title. Blasphemous also takes a lot of the religious culture of the south of Spain, especially from cities like Sevilla and Granada. These direct references reflect on the details of the architecture and composition of maps.

Beyond this, Blasphemous contains several interesting and fun easter eggs related to other video game franchises and works from different media. For instance, in the room where you offer the Children of Moonlight that you collected through the adventure to the painting of the bull, you can use your charge attack on the left wall to open a secret passage that will lead you to a new room. Inside this room, you’ll find several paintings referring to different video games, among which you will find Shovel Knight, Rime, Crossing Souls, UnEpic, Severed, Matilda Castilla, and Overcooked.

But Blasphemous offers us much more than that! There is another hidden room that is harder to find than the previous one. To access it, you’ll need particular abilities and enter a deep zone of the map. This room corresponds to a small cave with an arcade machine inside. If you have enough Tears of Atonement, you can give it a shot. 

Evoking the classic platforming feel of originals like Castlevania (1987) and Ghosts 'n Goblins (1985), this pixelated gem delivers a nostalgic journey through gaming history. With its retro-inspired gameplay and challenging platforming, it pays homage to the timeless classics while carving its own unique path in the modern era.

This one, also found on Mount Chiliad, is a clear allusion to the 1991 film Thelma & Louise. If you go to Mount Chiliad before 7 pm, you can see a recreation of the classic final of the movie where the two women drive off a cliff in a car to avoid being arrested.

Thelma & Louise holds a special place in many hearts, and that iconic scene has left us all wondering about their fate. Well, why not take matters into your own hands in GTA V?
