Gameplay and Mechanics
The war is always unpredictable. Thus, the game’s idea is to simulate WW2 as precisely as possible. That said, the Let Hell Loose experience brings a complex meta-game for the players.
As in any battle, all small things must work like the cog in the colossal combined arms warfare machine. You’ll experience lumbering tanks dominating the battlefield, and the crucial supply chains fuelling the frontlines. These aspects impact the tides of battle in the gameplay of the Second World War.
The game presents battles of 50 vs. 50 multiplayer across huge maps. Players can submerge in real scale iconic battlefields and feel authentic, chaotic combat. What matters most is impeccable strategy and communication with teammates. Only that way, you’ll be able to take control of an ever-evolving front line.
Diversity of Weaponry
Hell Let Loose has almost 40 different weapons, vehicles, and equipment. The weapons are divided into categories that go from anti-tanks to small sub-machines. Each of them has its functionalities and best usage mode. That way, you can go from heavy weapons to small ones and still perform an important part in the epic theatre of war.
Besides all that has already been cited, Hell Let Loose still has unique features to attract the public. This way, game developers guarantee that players will experience the full WW 2 experience.
High Fidelity Maps
The game features sweeping maps modelled on real reconnaissance images and satellite data. These nine maps created through archival aerial photography and satellite imagery with stunning detail and unprecedented realism are the first feature to stand out.
Intricately detailed maps were built with satellite data, such as Omaha Beach. This must be considered when players mark strategic targets and reinforce strong points. Map's unique characteristics must be used in your favor when you orchestrate the forces via the tactical map as well.
Through all this data and information gathered about each region, the game divides the battlefield into large capture sectors. To conquer them and end up with the ultimate victory, two forces of fifty players will engage themselves in a fight to the death across fields, bridges, forests, and towns. All of this set guarantees you emergent and constantly unique combats.
The objectives are there, so each team’s march will protect its crucial supply chains. At the same time, they will be hoping to see their lumbering tanks dominating the battlefield and taking control of real battle locations.
Another feature is all the classes at players’ disposal. With each class having different abilities, gamers can experience every aspect of World War II.
You can play as an Officer, Scout, Machine Gunne, Medic, Engineer, Tank Commander, and more.
The playable roles are:
The number of vehicles is another great feature. In open battles and on an evolving battlefield, vehicles are extremely important to break enemy lines. You can also use them to flank enemies or facilitate your troops or resources distribution through the map. The 14 vehicles available are:
M4A3E2 75mm Sherman
M4A3E2 76mm Sherman
No FPS can call itself an FPS if it doesn’t have a great variety of weapons to use. And, for a WW2 game, besides a great number of weapons, a historical fidelity is needed.
The good news is: Hell Let Loose has both! You can go into battle with authentic weapons that go from anti-tank guns to submachines. The weapons and grenades you can play with are:
M18 Smoke Grenade
Karabiner 98k x8
M3 Grease Gun
To keep the game as dynamic as possible, an FPS has to come with more than one game mode. That way, players can vary, and the matches won’t be the same.
Huge maps help, as players have more to explore with them, but they don’t do the job alone. With that in mind, Hell Let Loose developers created two different game modes: Warfare and Offensive.
Here, the map is divided into sectors, which are teams' targets. The winner is the one that conquers and keeps all the sectors until a specific time or ends the timer with more sectors under control. In Warfare, each team starts with 500 of each resource and generates 30 more per min.
Here, a defending team starts with all sectors under control. An attacking team starts with none and must capture them all. The defenders start with 250 of each resource, whereas the attackers begin with 500. For both teams, 30 more resources are generated per minute, as it is in Warfare mode.
Hell Let Loose isn’t in early access anymore, but that doesn’t mean that changes and upgrades are not coming. The devs have already promised two new modes yet to come. They are Invasion and Campaign.
Each sector conquered starts to generate one of three resources for all the modes. Conquering sectors will help not only with the objective but also with supplies. Note that Hell Let Loose is not about death ratios. It demands teamwork, communication, and managing resources.
